Whichever Branch you chose to join, you pay an annual membership
fee to BS-AC and the appropriate annual fee to the Branch. For new,
unqualified divers there is a one-off fee to cover the hire of
equipment during your Novice training when you first join our Branch
(after this, there are no more training fees to pay within this
Branch).
The total cost for a new Brighton BS-AC member requiring full
training is £257.50 (see below for breakdown), but these are
currently under review - in line with new BSAC training schedules.
Trained divers from other organisations can transfer to
equivalent BS-AC grades. Speak to our Diving Officer for details and

BS-AC Fee - First year - £55.00, thereafter - £32.00:
Covers one year's third party insurance, administration costs,
a subscription to Diver magazine (monthly, retail £31). On first
joining you also get SPORT DIVING - the British Sub-Aqua Club's
Sport Diving Manual (retail £12.99) and Novice Diver Student
Workbook (retail £2.50).
Brighton BS-AC one-off Training Fee of £60:
Payable by all new trainees. Covers all training undertaken
within the Branch, including hire of all equipment needed during
Novice I and Novice II training.
Brighton Branch Membership Fee - £25:
Payable by all our Branch Diving Members. Covers the running
costs of the Clubhouse, the Club Boats, Compressor installation
(members enjoy unlimited free air refills, usually £1.50 - £2.00
locally elsewhere), general administration costs and a regular
club newsletter.
BS-AC Qualification Record Book - £2.50.
Membership of Sussex Yacht is necessary at a cost of £85 or £115
for joint membership (two persons living at the same address).
There is a one-off joining fee of £50.
